Project Description
Lexington Gardens is located in Nine Elms among many new developments and adjacent to the US Embassy and close to the now redeveloped Battersea Power Station. The development has been designed to cater for a modern London lifestyle with a stylish exterior design, fitting for one of London’s most exclusive areas.
Lexington Gardens comprises 262 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and residents have access to exclusive amenities, such as a state-of-the-art gym, a media room and a roof-top garden. Lexington Gardens was a RC Frame construction with a lightweight SFS Infill and a mixture of brickwork, Palagio Terracotta rainscreen cladding and GRC banding across the three blocks.
Systems Provided
We incorporated the following façade systems to the buildings;
-
Palagio Terracotta Rainscreen Cladding System [imported from Florence, Italy].
-
GRCUK GRC Banding [part of the Laing O’Rourke group].
-
Vision Design Winter Gardens.
-
IdealCombi Composite Windows & Doors [Imported from Denmark].
-
Reynaers Aluminium Curtain Walling.
Process and Co-Operation
We worked extensively with the design team to evaluate technical performance to satisfy the criteria as defined by the NHBC including the construction of sample rigs and extensive impact testing in Italy.
We were able to give bid support through the tender process including offering solutions with regards to practicality of build.
Bellway understood that by choosing to work with us they would benefit from a contractor well prepared to deliver a scheme of this size and complexity with a well organised and managed QA and H&S management process.
